About Us
In 1976, Paul DeBettencourt and Matthew Zacarian founded Minuteman Pest Control Co, Inc. The company was founded on the principles of providing its customers with a quick and reliable service. Minuteman provides a personal integrated approach to pest management. This approach is based on a thorough knowledge of account maintenance, sanitation, and targeted pesticide use (if necessary) to achieve the best possible results at a fair price. As a last resort if pesticides have to be used, the least hazardous materials will be selected and targeted to the problem area.
Paul, now the sole owner, President and CEO, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with extensive training in Entomology and Integrated Pest Management.
Jared DeBettencourt, who previously was our General Manager, has been with Minuteman since 1994. He received his category 41 license in General Pest Control and his category 43 in Termite and Structural pest control in 1996. Jared was promoted to Termite Division Manager in 2004 after certifying Minuteman in the use of the Sentricon termite baiting system. He has extensive training in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). In 2010, Jared was then promoted to General Manager and obtained our Quality Pro recognition through the National Pest Management Association. This is a national recognition of excellence in pest management.
Matt DeBettencourt, who previously was our Wildlife Division Manager, has been with Minuteman since 1993. He received his category 41 license in General Pest Control in 1996. Matt was certified as a wildlife control operator from the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Wildlife in 1998 (PAC agent) and then promoted to our Wildlife Division Manager in 1999. He has extensive training in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). He was nationally Certified as a Wildlife Control Professional in 2004 (CWCP) through the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA).
In March 2016, Jared DeBettencourt and Matt DeBettencourt were recognized as Associate Certified Entomologists (ACE) through the Entomological Society of America (ESA). In 2017, both Matt and Jared were promoted to Vice Presidents of the company.
Minuteman Pest Control is a member of the National Pest Management and the New England Pest Management Associations.
The Pest Management Professionals, at Minuteman, are continually trained and attend workshops to use the latest techniques in Integrated Pest Management.
